Keynote Speaker

Founder, principal speaker, and director of the Institute for Excellence in Writing. Presenting throughout North America, he addresses issues relating to teaching, writing, thinking, spelling, and music with clarity, insight, practical experience, and humor. His seminars for parents, students, and teachers have helped transform many a reluctant writer and have equipped educators with powerful tools to dramatically improve students' skills.

Although he is a graduate of the Talent Education Institute in Japan (Suzuki Method) and holds a Certificate of Child Brain Development, his best endorsement is from a young Alaskan boy who called him "the funny man with the wonderful words." He and his beautiful, heroic wife Robin are parents of seven, grandparents of three, and educators of their two youngest children at home in Oklahoma’s Green Country.

Dr. Shanon Brooks is a tireless voice for a society built on principles; he advocates a return to the American traditions of loving marriages, strong families, and united communities through a national speaking tour called:

He is the president of Face to Face with Greatness Seminars (www.facetofacewithgreatness.com), which teaches the popular principles of A Thomas Jefferson Education. He is also the owner of Plutarch Publishing (www.plutarchpublishing.com), which distributes the printed materials that outline the philosophy of leadership education. He is the former president of George Wythe University and a founder of the Center for Social Leadership (www.thesocialleader.com).


He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, a master’s degree in education, and a PhD in constitutional law. He has traveled extensively throughout the country and abroad and served four years in the U.S. Naval Submarine Fleet. A native of Seattle, Washington, Shanon loves hiking, reading, farming, and chopping wood. Shanon and his wife Julia live with their six children in Monticello, Utah.
